I am been searching through Dawes Roll and I find it very confusing. I can not find any true family members listed in the rolls. I can find some names that I think may be an ancestor of mine but then when I look at the logs they have some of the information does not connect my family members.
Take Eli Watts, I found an Eli Watts on the rolls but it has his father listed different then what my family tree has taken me. I am not sure where I can find true proof to show my Cherokee Indian line. I have searched every site I know of to find more about my Indian line but keep hitting dead ends.
I know that there are others that have had the same problem as I have but I am not going to give up the search. I have come to love looking into my family history and finding new things about my family that I did not know before.
